Online Blackjack Guide
Blackjack dates back to the 18'th century and was played by the French aristocrats. It was called vingt-et-un (French translation of 'twenty-one'). In the 19'th the game was played in Canada and the United States.
Twenty one (21) was less than popular, until the odds were modified to give players a better advantage.
A rule change that gave players 10:1 odds if they drew a Spade or Clubs (Black) Jack and a Black Ace card on their first two cards, gave its name Blackjack.
Classic online blackjack uses one deck of cards. Other game variations can use up to 8 decks of cards.
